Why Knanaya Marriage?
The Knanaya Catholic Youth are encouraged to marry within their own faith and community to preserve the endogamous nature and Catholic identity that has been upheld for centuries. This tradition is deeply rooted in the Biblical practice of the Israelites, who were instructed to marry within their own tribes to maintain the purity of their faith and heritage. By continuing this practice, the Knanaya community ensures the preservation of its unique cultural and religious identity, passing down the same faith and ethnicity through generations, as has been done throughout its history.
